Responsibilities
- Resolve complex customer issues which may require investigation and research on existing products
- Designs workaround or solutions that require good knowledge of products and user environment
- Identify bugs at the code level and coordinates with Maintenance team for fixes
- Perform bug fixes in source code
- Develop and design customer driven projects
- Develop support tools that improve quality and productivity
- Adopt and learn new products handed over to support
- Train Junior Engineers on new features or new product
- Interact with Customers and junior engineers to resolve customer issues
- Help Junior support engineers with their support tasks
Qualifications
- A university degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related discipline
- 5 years of extensive system level programming knowledge of Unix/Linux using 'C' or 3-5 yrs of Unix System Admin experience with 1 year of system level programming knowledge
- Ability to adopt and learn new technologies
- Working Knowledge of Java/Windows programming is an asset
- Excellent Unix Shell Programming skills
- Strong problem analysis and solution design ability
- Experience in using debugging tools like gdb/dbx
- Good knowledge in the implementations and managing of multiple products
- Above average communication skills and inter-personal skills
- Good understanding of all product features and good skills in explaining features to customers
- Experience in operating across multiple computer platforms and environments
- Good productivity and quality results driven
