Description Manages advertising and public relations activities for company with goal of establishing and maintaining a favorable image of Platform with investors, potential customers, employees and the general public. Coordinates communications with the public. Determines advertising and PR needs and supports appropriate media. Handles relations with outside agencies. This position reports directly to the VP of Marketing.
Responsibilities
1.
- Manages all public relations issues requiring on-going contact with the company's legal counsel, the hi-tech industry and general business press, executive staff and customers
- Arranges industry analyst/press tours for key executives, etc.
- Manages PR budgets
- Responsible for all PR agency relations
- Prepares and keeps up-to-date all press materials including company's product positioning and market and industry background information
- Determines and evaluates all editorial opportunities
- Recommends speaking opportunities for company representatives
2.
- Supports advertising programs to publicize company's products:
- Participates in development of advertising policies and general advertising campaigns in support of sales activities
- Manages advertising budgets
- Responsible for all advertising agency relations
- Manages advertising creation and media placement processes
- Reviews, edits and may write copy for ads, brochures and direct mail pieces
3.
- Serves as editor of company's newsletter which is distributed to clients
- Interviews clients and writes case study/product testimonial stories distributed to prospects
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree/diploma in Business, Journalism, Marketing or English. Advanced degree in Business Management or Marketing desirable
- Investor Relations Experience an asset
- Minimum 4 years experience in Corporate Communications/Client Relations Environment in a high-tech/software development company
- Broad knowledge of advertising, public relations and communications principles and practices
- Excellent time management, communications, decision making, presentation, organizational and interpersonal skills
